The cruise idea sounds wonderful. My wife and I went on the first TLA =
cruise/inservice to the Bahamas several years ago. We loved it. =20

Or if an Alaskan cruise is too expensive, how about a Caribbean cruise?
Bahamas cruise? Mexican cruise? (Just checked...the Caribbean cruise for =

for three days is $1049--next summer.) Alaskan cruise is around $1649;
Mexican cruise $1109.) None include airfare....
Of course, things will change and prices will fluctuate...but, overall, =
when
you think about all that you spend on trips, this isn't too bad when it
includes meals, lodging, and all your entertainment while aboard.
Is it possible for each state to "gather" its LM_NET membership together
(making a contact person(s) available for scheduling state-wide meetings)
and then perhaps during specific meetings (maybe even regional or district
meeting levels), these individuals begin working together to form the =
"Best
of LM_NET Live" programs for professional library meetings. This would
create a public-relations campaign to build LM_NET interest and to get
individuals involved online; then perhaps we could gather for a major
conference later (next summer?) to meet, discuss, and share ideas with one
another across the world.
I've already met several individuals through local meetings who tell me =
that
they know me from LM_NET. It's really cool to finally put a face to a =
name
and learn what is happening in other libraries that are close to you.
