I, too, wish there were some kind of sliding scale for membership based on
student ratio:library budgets. I rarely join any of the other groups
(AASL etc.)...just the main membership because the cost is so high. Our
budget is $1500 a year for K-8. Even the years where I pay for everything
myself, I cannot afford much and I haven't even thought about going to a
conference due to cost.
Also, there are many other good organizations that are impt. to keep up
with...AECT etc.
Is there a advocacy library group for Title 1 schools? That would be
intresting.
Sometimes it is overwhelming...the amount of information and the costs of
memberships and conferences. Imagine how our students feel!
