I need your expertise with this. Please bear with me as I attempt to explain. Our P. E. department plays a specific song (Cotton-eyed Joe) on a record to accompany the dance of the same name. They play the 1967 record on a record player that has a variable speed which allows them to slow things down in order for students to learn the song. The same song is now available for sale on CD. The teacher would like to buy the CD (as she is afraid the record is on its last legs). However, we do not have equipment to slow the CD down (at least I am not aware of any way to do this). The teacher would like us to copy the song onto a tape or burn a CD in the "slowed down" motion. I told her I did not think this was legal, so now am asking for your opinions.
