AVAILABLE POSITION
Program Director for Media Services and Instructional Technology
(1399)
Program Director job level 12
42 weeks per year, 8 hours per day
Reports to Executive Director of Technology
Salary range $55,158 to $64,644
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise media services staff for effective provision of all media
support services consistent with program needs and district plans.
Provide support for principals and media staff.
Partner with principals to provide leadership, supervision, evaluation
and continuous improvement of school media programs and staff.
Work with media specialists, instructional assistants and the Teaching
and Learning team to develop and provide staff development opportunities
for teachers to continue to integrate technology into their teaching
practices.
Promote and coordinate the integration of information and technology
skills into district curriculum.
Coordinate technology staff development training with district
technology training objectives.
Manage the district materials collection, including films,
videocassettes, computer software and circulating equipment maintaining
a current and relevant collection.
Coordinate implementation, training and use of circulation systems so
that the library resources are easily accessible and effectively used.
Purchase print and non-print items for the district collection
maintaining a quality selection of materials for students and staff.
Manage the process of cataloging and classifying unprocessed materials
including both print and non-print materials to ensure accuracy.
Develop and administer district media budgets so that resources are
allocated in a manner consistent with the district plans.
Assist the technology planning and acquisition process at the school
and district levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience managing a district media program desired.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, and
interpersonal skills.
Current Minnesota teaching license preferred and/or media specialist
license desired.
