Position available - Librarian at Jesuit High School
We are a Catholic, college-preparatory school in the
Jesuit tradition, serving just over 1,000 young men
and women. The library itself is less than 10 years
old, contains 15,000 volumes, and has 36 computers. It
is staffed by one librarian, one assistant, and
numerous parent volunteers.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with teachers on instruction.
2. Teach and promote information literacy.
3. Foster a love of reading.
4. Integrate instructional technologies into
instruction.
5. Develop and maintain positive relationships
with the school community.
6. Manage and administer the library effectively.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree and professionally-approved
certification.
2. Experience as a high school librarian required.
3. Classroom teaching experience preferred.
4. Proven professional track record.
5. Technological competence.
6. Genuine affection for students, teachers, and
parents.
Starting date: August 18, 2003
