Hi, I am a Library School student, and a few weeks ago, I had posted a request for ideas for creating tip sheets for subscription databases in the high/middle school. I had received a few responses, however, some how I lost them through my email. Since many schools have various subscription databases, what I would like to do is create a general tip sheet that could apply (for the most part) to all of the databases. I don't want to prepare a sheet for EACH database, rather one that would work for all of them in the library. I would like to include the different types of searches (subject, keyword, advanced); info on boolean operators; differece between web and database searching; as well as provide some examples with each type of search. I basically want the students to understand the different ways of searching, and would like to keep the tip sheet as brief as possible. Any thoughts or suggestions on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
