It may be my imagination, but there seems to be a trend toward elementary
librarians being more lenient toward letting teachers keep classroom sets
of books and not charging for lost books. I can understand this. It's a
lot easier for kids to read through picture books in a hurry. I posted my
response based on middle school experience where they check out sets for
research which bypasses the library--not a behavior I want to reinforce.
