SEC: Summer Reading

Our 8-12 high school is currently changing our summer reading program.  In
the past the students were assigned a specific book which the school
provided.  This summer the students will have the option to choose one book
from a selected listed of titles.  I am in the process of compiling that
list and need some assistance.  Can you point me in the direction of a
comprehensive list of titles, listed by grade level?  I have already looked
at many high school websites for ideas. Also, how do your assess summer
reading?  We really need to shake thing up around here so I would love to
hear what works for you.
