TARGET: Contract language protecting librarian positions

Dear LM_NET members:

Recent cuts of librarian positions in neighboring districts have confirmed
the need for our district librarians to work with our teachers' union to
create protection for our positions in our bargaining agreement. At this
point librarians are considered only in the same way as any "specialist"
(e.g. music teacher, P.E. instructor.) Does anyone have specific language in
their contracts that provides protection specifically for libraries and
librarians?
