What selection criteria do you use for selecting books for Spanish speaking students? We are a K-5 school, about 800 students, with (so far) only a few -- maybe 3 to 5 -- Spanish speaking kids at a time, who rarely stay a whole year. Presently we have NO Spanish language books. What is the objective of books we choose for these students? Is it so they can learn to read in Spanish, and/or learn to read in English? Do we want them to have something to read in Spanish, with an English version on our shelves? And/or do we want the books to have both English & Spanish text in it? And how many do we want/need? Do we want fiction and/or non-fiction. I imagine we will definately want a dictionary! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
