OT UK trip

We're going to the UK this fall (yes, 17 more days until retirement!). =
We'll be in the Gloucestershire, Yorkshire, Edinburgh (where I was =
born), and Lanarkshire areas looking up relatives (dead and alive). Oh =
yes, one cousin in Bordeaux! We've done a lot of research but have found =
very little that is "library" oriented. What have the guidebooks omitted =
that would be of professional interest to a librarian? Other =
suggestions, tips, advice? We will not be visiting London this time. As =
always, thanks!  ^_^
