I have a slew of new computers being delivered this week and I am
working on one right now so that my Tech can create a Ghost image from
it to put on the rest of the lab computers.
Do you guys do this, and if so - what things do you do so all your
computers will be alike?
Here are some things I do:
1. Install any software for which I have licenses for my lab computers
so I only have to do it once.
2. Arrange the icons on the desktop the way I want them for kid use -
i.e., I put all my Microsoft icons at the top of the screen, things they
won't need (Network Neighborhood, etc.) down the left side, internet
icons at bottom right, etc.
3. Set defaults in MS Word and Power Point to show the 9 items in the
recently used file list.
4. Add our school name in Auto Correct. (IT's really long!)
5. Change margins in Page Setup of Internet Explorer to .25 in left
and right margins so it doesn't cut off the edge of things that are a
little wide.
These are what come to mind right now, and I can't think fast enough!
My brain is tired. Do you guys have anything else to suggest that you
would like all your computers to do without having to go to each one?
If I get enough suggestions I'll share them with everyone.
