Last November, when DownUnder schools were thinking about stocktake
(inventory) in preparation for our school year finishing in mid-December, I
sought suggestions from my t/l colleagues for why we did stocktake apart
from just counting our losses. I received many responses, many along the
lines of being able to assess and map the state of the resources and develop
priorities for the following year. I actually compiled this list and have
it saved somewhere, but from that, I produced a flier called 25 Reasons we
do Stocktake (or something similar) and gave a paper copy to every staff
member so they had a better understanding of our needs at the time.
If there is any interest in this document, email me offlist and I will put
it on my library website for all to share. I will advise you thru LM_NET
