If you are looking at a Mac then iMovie is perfect. It will do exactly what you want and the best part is that it is free from Apple. The newest version only works in OS X, but if you are looking at getting new computers then again, perfect! There is a good tutorial that comes with it. I have done several videos on it and found it to be easy to use and am pleased with the product.
