I've checked the archives and only found one person asking about this series and one mention in a list of books for 8th grade girls. The literacy coach in my school had purchased the series for the reading classes. I, in what I guess could be called a snit of professionalism - they weren't mentioned in any of my journals, didn't purchase them for the media center - at first. But the students kept coming in asking me for them, so I finally purchased two copies of each of the books. It wasn't enough. I purchased five more copies of each of the seven books. (Townsend Press sells them cheap) And I finally started reading them. I like them!! They really appeal to both the boys and girls. So why don't we hear more about them? Has anyone else read some of them? What do you think? I will post a hit - I really am curious why they wouldn't be in any of the journals. Admittedly they probably wouldn't go over too well in affluent areas, but not all of us live or work in affluent areas.
