I've never heard a quote about loss statistics equating with use.
But, I do know my principal views book losses as "part of the cost of doing
business." Better lots of resources used and a few missing than lots of
resources carefully guarded and accounted for. Yes, we do take invnetory, yes we
do want students to be accountab le, but making a huge deal out of losses can be a
bad PR move.
