Greetings, This morning (Tuesday afternoon for most members) I was listening to Talk of the Nation on NPR. I was especially interested today because they were discussing recommended books on Democracy. At the conclusion of an otherwise brilliant program, Marcus, the NPR "Librarian", mentioned the John Dewey Decimal System for classifying the books mentioned. I fired off an e-mail right away to correct his statement and to recommend to NPR that they screen their "librarians" more carefully. Still listening...but a little more critically ;-) Martin Swist mswist@asij.ac.jp Library Media Specialist The American School In Japan (ASIJ) 1-1-1 Nomizu, Chofu-shi, Tokyo, 182 Japan Telephone: 81 422 34 5300, extensions 295 & 296 Hospitality Committee Member of the Listserv, LM_NET For a good time, click on http://www.asij.ac.jp/middle/lib/index.html "It's no use going to school unless the library is your final destination."
