ELEM: good quality 3 & 4 grade books

Help!  A teacher asked me to suggest a few really good, quality 3rd/4th
grade books.  She is interested in "books that have less dialogue and
more "meat" to them."  She seems to love books like The Trumpet of the
Swan or Sarah Plain and Tall.  Do you all have any other suggestions?
