TARGET: Reading Super Bowl

Our school (grades K-5) has a month-long reading promotion every =
January.  This year the committee voted to repeat a theme we had used =
several years before---"Score a Touchdown--Read!"  The kick-off event =
was a pep rally led by the cheerleaders and football players from our =
local high school.  After the pep rally these high school students went =
to each classroom and shared a couple of books with the students.  We =
divided the school into two teams (AFC vs. NFC) and had our own Reading =
Super Bowl.  Teams had to read a certain number of pages to move their =
players down the field.  The team with the most touchdowns (most pages =
read) at the end of the month was declared the winner, although everyone =
participated in our final Super Bowl party.

Does anyone have any suggestions for additional activities we could add =
to the program this time?  Also, can you recommend any good books that =
could be read to the different grade levels using a football theme?

I appreciate any help you can give and will post a hit if anyone is =
interested.
