If the library is having a bigger problem with this than other areas of = the building, it may pay to look at the differences. Sometimes a small = change in layout, making screens more visible, closer to teacher space, etc can = solve or reduce the problem. Try also posting rules (done positive, not neg), making clear = expectations and consequences, and closer monitoring for a while. The ID card or = checkout system lends credibility to that monitoring. Check the history file periodically and you can see which sites are generating the popups. If they don't fit the district AUP, make sure the users know that. And remember, it is probably only a very small group that need dealing = with on a punitive basis. Most know how, or learn quickly, how to act in a = safe, responsible manner.=20 Robert Eiffert, Librarian Pacific Middle School Evergreen SD, Vancouver Washington beiffert@egreen.wednet.edu robert@crypticmachinery.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
