Humor: 1st days can be scary

Sometimes something happens to make you realize how scary a first day at
a new school can be - whether it be the first day of Kindergarten, or
the first day of high school.

Our school has an elective called "Real World".  It is basically a life
skills class open to all high school students, grades 9-12.   My
assistant found a confused 9th grader wandering in the halls.  When he
told her he was supposed to be in the Real World Class, she showed him
where the room was.  The student's anguished reply was - "But it is FULL
of HIGH SCHOOLERS!!"

What he meant was that he did not see any 9th graders, and he was
afraid to go in.  Admirably, my assistant refrained from saying "Welcome
to the Real World!"
