TARGET-->Coaching Techniques for Academic Competitions

Hello, All--

I am considering taking over coaching responsibilities for our Academic
Competition English team this year. I just wondered what recommendations you
all have for training the team members to respond quickly but accurately,
and for covering the subject area. We have some training materials I'll be
able to use, but since my fields of expertise are technology, library
science and social studies, I may not be the best subject area coach they
could have (none of our English teachers want to take this on, and I could
use the money).

Any ideas are appreciated!
