Looking for project partner in another state

Greetings,
I have begun planning a local history project with a 3rd grade teacher and we are 
looking to partner with someone in another state (we're in CT) who'd like to 
exchange final products.
The jist of the project is that we will collect items/artifacts that have been 
invented/made popular in our city (New Haven) and create a treasure box of sorts.  
The curricular objective of the unit is the history of New Haven.
We would like to then switch boxes with another classroom and learn about their 
local history.
We're aiming for a 3-4 weeks time frame with everything completed by December break.
