Here, in Australia, our school does not have a teacher dress code although we do have polar fleece tops and tracksuits with our logo that many of us choose to wear. Summer is a free-for-all which is sensible because of the heat. Shorts are acceptable for both men and women, but professionalism means we don't get the itty-bitty ones (although some of our sweet-young-things could wear them very well. Those days are passed for me) I recently attended a conference in Queensland where they were having record temps and killer humidity and was amazed at how formally many of the locals were dressed. Maybe they were used to it - all I wanted was to be in my swimmers in the sea. In WA, the Education Minister is mandating a dress code but even it is much more relaxed than some of yours - mind you some of their teachers are in the tropics, come in the desert and some in the very cool climes because it is such a big state.) You gotta love Australia!
