FWIW, I'd suggest that you put the personal info about yourself at the bottom of the letter, not the top. Many teachers read only the first paragraph of any notice/letter to see if it's important *to them* before discarding it. What is important to the teacher is any new info about the library, not necessarily the new librarian.
