Hello Everyone!
I am soliciting your help on a media center activity I am designing for 9th grade
classes. Booker T. Washington's "Up from Slavery" is a book that is required reading
for this grade, and I would like to incorporate BTW's life story as well as his
autobiography into a 9th grade
media center lesson. I am thinking along the lines of a scavenger hunt, where I
would think of questions to which students would have to "hunt" for answers.
I am going to have various experimental learning stations set up where print
resources
would have to be utilized. (, archival corner, reference, biography, collective
biography, etc.) I am emphasizing print because I find students gravitate much less
readily to use, as compared to online resources. The thing is, I did not merely
want them to present their answers in written report form but in a more creative
fashion, such as an oral presentation of some type. Any ideas??
