Hi everyone,
I am writing to seek your input/advice regarding 4 books that students
have asked to read in our book club. I haven't read them (I know -
shame on me!) and am looking specifically at whether there is any
inappropriate sexuality or language. We are a private school, and I
have to be careful not to offend some students. Added to the challenge
is the fact that I have very mature, intelligent seniors in the group
as well as some immature freshmen. Anyway, the books are:
The Life of Pi by Yann Martel (I can't believe I haven't read this - I
think it must be good for all I have heard about it!)
Enemy Women by Paulette Jiles
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers
Thanks for your help as I need to decide the book soon and don't have
time to read them all.
