Unfortunately the discarding of librarians and other "specialty" teachers has been going on for decades. I can remember growing up in California and one year having a librarian, the next year not. Several years ago our school was adding a music teacher. That year a nearby school system deleted all their elementary music teacher positions--They needed to find funds for a new football field. While our school benefited from an large pool of readily available music teachers, I mourned the education missing from those other schools. Bene e Pace (Blessings and Peace), Paula S.W.
