>I try to weed Fiction, Everybody, Non-fiction on a rotating basis one section a year. Sometimes, if new curriculum comes in or I get a windfall I will weed more often or if my book order comes in and has many titles on one subject in it, I will weed that subject area. One of my schools has very limited space so I seem to be continuously weeding to make room for newer titles. As for multiple copies of books, that depends on the use. If all of 1st grade needs several copies of the same book at the same time, I may have 5 copies. I also buy 4 copies each of the Maude Hart Lovelace nominees each year. The past year's nominees work out well for literature circle activities for 4th and 5th graders. They like being able to choose from the media center as well as teachers' classroom sets. Pam Gelbmann, Media Generalist Wilson/Madison Elem.
