Apology to tens of thousands of librarians for saying that contents notes go in the 526 tag. I'm sure you all just rolled your eyes and thought "Anyone knows contents notes go in the 505 tag." Of course that is what I meant to say. Even as I correct the tag number, may I repeat that contents notes are an excellent way to add access points to your on-line catalog. A few minutes occasionally spiffing up the on-line record of a new or old book with contents notes is time well spent that lasts as long as you have that book on the shelf. You don't want to get compulsive about it, but it can mean the difference between a shelf-sitter and a useful book. --- Donna Cook, Nacogdoches, Texas : Teacher Librarian Central High; District Library Coordinator, Central ISD; donnacook@lycos.com 936-853-9345 (work) 936-569-2426 (home) "Books are the holes in the fences of life"--Peg Kehret ____________________________________________________________ Find what you are looking for with the Lycos Yellow Pages http://r.lycos.com/r/yp_emailfooter/http://yellowpages.lycos.com/default.asp?SRC=lycos10 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
