Greetings All - Thanks for the two responses to my request for a Fair Use statement for use with middle school students and their PowerPoint presentations. Here are the two responses I received. They are quite helpful! 1) For adults I recommend something like: "This presentation uses copyright protected material used under the Fair Use exemption of US copyright law. Further use is prohibited. For second graders I recommend something like: "I used other people's stuff to make my project. Please don't copy it." For your middle schoolers, you should be able to come up with something halfway between those two statements. Submitted by: Carol Simpson, Ed.D. Asst. Professor - School of Library & Information Sciences University of North Texas 2) If you go to Technology and Learning web site, they have a nice chart you are allowed to download and make copies. www.techlearning.com. Search under copyright, and go to the hall Davidson article. There is a pdf. there of a chart.
