I'm hoping someone can help me help my son. ( He actually thinks I know something
about this "stuff"-- if you've been on the list for awhile you know that's not true.

He is running window98, after agreeing to terms for a movie, his computer went
blank. All he can get now is the Windows "wallpaper" and then a message that says
"NAV auto protect unable to locate configuration file" There is no start bar or
any other way to move around the computer at all. I've looked at a couple of place
on the internet and found some situations similar but apparently all these people
still had start bars and could get to programs to try and fix this. A suggestion to
start in safe mode doesn't seem to work either ( he held control and then push
power) but nothing happens. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
