I personally suspect that many of these simply have forgotten to delete their automatic signature before sending the message. Since the requirement is a blank message, wouldn't that cause it not to work properly? Pamela AlHusaini Librarian, Bowie High School 800 N. Mill St. Bowie, TX 76230 pamela.alhusaini@esc9.net -----Original Message----- From: School Library Media & Network Communications [mailto:LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU]On Behalf Of Mary Ludwick Sent: Thursday, June 03, 2004 3:21 PM To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Subject: Pet Peeve Why is it that so many librarians cannot follow the directions for stopping listserve email or setting nomail for the listserve? LMNet has this problem, and our state librarian discussion group has the problem about a thousand times over! I wonder: If administrators required the knowledge of the correct way to exit a listserve, would many librarians be without a job? It seems so simple to me ...especially when the directions are at the end of each LMNet message not to mention Peter made a separate posting recently. I guess it is like a lot of things in life.-- If one knows how to do it, it is simple. For others it is difficult.
