I am compiling information to write an article for regular teachers on the need for their students to come on their own and/or with their small groups of 5 to choose books. Several administrators in our area consider it a "waste of time" and are calling for library classes as part of the related arts schedule. While I can effectively discuss the research aspect of flexible scheduling and my faculty is supportive, I need to help other LMS' at schools regarding choosing books. Any ideas are appreciated and I will post a HIT. I believe we all can contribute greatly in areas like this so that many of us are writing articles in journals for others, besides LMS's. Thanks.
