The Texas windfall that applies to teachers who have spouses that collect SS
will end today or tomorrow. The legislature has closed the loophole. The
teacher had to work one day as a janitor because that would be covered by SS
and they could collect half the spouses SS plus their own state pension. It
was such a deal that some retired early to get in under the wire. They
didn't get rich but it helped.
