Gen: dictionary suggestions?

One of our language arts teachers is looking for classroom dictionaries
(print version). They must:

        --list word etymology
        --be appropriate for middle school students
        --be of reasonable cost, as she will be purchasing several at
her own           expense.

Does anyone have specific suggestions? Please respond to me personally.
