I'm another who orders my books and AR quizzes at the same time. I will buy
a book that doesn't have a quiz if it meets my needs, but I must say that much
of what I buy does have quizzes available. Since I started AR I've found
myself buying more quality and higher level fiction because the kids will read it
if I slap an AR star on it.

Like many others, I had a library of wonderful books that were never read
till we started AR (we are in our 7th year). Prior to AR my circulation was
heavily weighted toward drawing books and "I Spy". Now books like Harry Potter
and the Hobbit are checked out and read on a regular basis.

AR is not the end all and be all, but it has made a real difference in what
the kids at my school are reading - and in our test scores! New teachers all
comment on what competent readers many of kids are and how much they read.
