Comments:
Harvard-Westlake is a school designed for students who possess both the=
motivation and the ability to pursue a rigorous college preparatory course=
of study. At Harvard-Westlake Middle School, the Seeley G. Mudd Library is=
a busy, active, and welcoming part of the school. It serves a student=
population of 750 along with 60+ faculty. The collection comprises=
approximately 17,000 books, 80 periodical titles, and access to numerous=
on-line sources. The library's automated catalog allows students to search=
not only Harvard-Westlake's Middle and Upper School library collections,=
but also the collections of fourteen other independent school libraries in=
Southern California, a total of approximately 200,000 volumes. The library=
staff reaches out actively to serve students and faculty and support their=
information needs. The library is cooperatively involved with all academic=
departments in a team-taught program of library research, integrated=
information literacy and technology skills. Assignments, recreational=
reading and research projects bring students into the library frequently.

 librarians."
