My solution (suggestion) would be to reduce the administration to a
minimum by using one of the online favourites/bookmarks services ....
this then means that students can access them from any computer on the
internet .... you can make them public or password protect ... works
with all browsers and OSs

Also means you only have to amend the single list rather than spend time
keeping individual machines up to date ... just have a shortcut on the
desktop or .....

Some of these services are free ... others you pay for .... see my list
at http://www.shambles.net/pages/learning/ict/favourites/

If you know of any others then I'd appreciate knowing.

It would be interesting to see a HIT ... am sending this via the
listserv as I'd be interested in how others compare using online
bookmark services to keeping favourites on a local client machine.

Good luck

Chris

Subject: TECH: Locking "Favorites" within IE and OS10.2.8
We have an extensive list of bookmarks that we use for research. We have
enabled multi-user accounts within OSX and to date have not been
successfully able to "lock-down" the Favorites items. Any suggestions or
considerations? We are thinking about posting all our links off our web
page to avoid this issue.
