HIT: Alternatives to Glamour

Thanks to all of you who responded!  Here are the suggestions I received.


I know--it gradually dawned on me that Glamour  had gone over the edge

on appropriatness for high schoolers.  In fact, I once emailed them over the 
content.  They wrote back describing their audience as 18 to late 20's...so, I 
stopped subscribing.  I carry Teen Vogue, YM,  and

Seventeen.



I replaced Glamour with Allure a couple of years ago and it has been well received 
by students.



We haven't had Glamour in years, however a couple of years ago we started ordering 
Instyle-mostly fashion, but the girls love it.



We subscribe to Fashion and Flare



We dropped Glamour and YM a few years ago at the middle school because they were 
too mature in terms of theme and content for our kids.  I couldn't find anything 
that replaced them although I do subscribe to American Girl which is really more 
appropriate for the 5th and 6th graders.



For middle school we have Cosmo Girl, Discovery Girls and GL.  For high

school we have Seventeen, YM and Teen People.  When I was updating my

subscriptions this year, I found that Amazon.com has an option to search just 
magazine titles, so I used the term "teen" and made some selections from the 
results.



We are trying Cosmo girl and so far, so good.
