Hi folks,

You may or may not be aware that a number of library media specialists
are working diligently to establish a Media Specialist Special Interest
Group within ISTE. My take is that for many library media specialists
see the need to join a "technology" organization in order to keep up
with their jobs. The ISTE SIGMS might be of value to you if that is the
case.

There will be a very strong strand of programs designed specifically for
school library media specialists at the conference below and this
registration information may be of use.

This update contains important information about upcoming NECC 2004
deadlines:

* Learn how your group can register at the Super Early-Bird rate of $150
per person after the March 31 deadline.
* Be aware of upcoming housing reservation deadlines and how you can
avoid the $100 cancellation fee.
* Find out about NECC 2004 workshops, special events, and tours that are
still available and filling up fast.

Super Early-Bird Registration Ends March 31

Just a quick reminder that March 31 is the last day to register under
the Super Early-Bird rate of $150 (just $105 for ISTE and LACUE
members).


Bring a Team and Save!
After March 31, rates go up to $175 for the general public, or $130 for
ISTE and LACUE members (until April 30), and $199 after that for the
general public, $155 for ISTE and LACUE members. BUT, teams of 10 or
more can register for the Super Early-Bird rate of $150 no matter when
you register. Just agree on a group name and a group contact name, then
follow the appropriate links on the NECC Web site to get started. If you
have questions, call 1.800.280.6218.

* A team room will be available onsite where groups can meet on a
first-come basis beginning Sunday, June 20. Many groups can gather at
the same time, so plan daily meetings to keep in touch with your team
goals.

Housing Cancellation Deadline Is Fast Approaching

The date to cancel any unneeded hotel reservations WITHOUT penalty is
April 1, 2004. To cancel your reservation online, please do so by
accessing the Online Reservation System from the NECC Web site. Should
you wish to submit your request in writing, you may do so via fax at
1.330.963.0319 or e-mail necc04@conferon.com.

While many of our hotel rooms are sold out, rooms are still available at
some wonderful properties, and shuttle service to and from all
designated conference hotels and the convention center will be provided
complimentary to all paid registrants, exhibitor personnel, and badged
guests. A listing of the hotels and their amenities is available on the
NECC Web site.
