Hello... If I may be allowed to make you feel better... I have been =
between two buildings for two years - a 3-5, and a 6-8. This year all of =
the library staff has been cut except the media specialist at the high =
school. Our three elementary libraries, and one middle school library =
will be closed next year - only the high school will remain open with one =
media specialist for the district - no aides - no help, except volunteers. =
This is the third year our budgets have been taken away from us also. =
Since my position has been eliminated - I've accepted the position as =
Elementary Music Teacher. I've been a librarian for twelve years - and do =
not have a music background. A brand new career for me starting in the =
Fall. It will, to say the least, be a busy summer learning the music =
curriculum! Feel better? Deb.

We ended our year an hour ago. I am swamped in the middle of inventory,
meetings, and trying to get organized for the summer program. It has been
an exceedingly trying year, so it's not one I will shed tears over. I =
have
never felt so under-appreciated or taken for granted in the 6 years I have
worked here as I did this year. So, my goal for this summer is to try to
re-group, re-organize, and try to come back with a different attitude. =
Not
that I don't always start the year that way, but I truly feel beaten down,
and it will be a struggle to get there this summer. So, any thoughts or
suggestions? Where do you when the entire district is seemingly not
supportive?
