Some of the things that I have done can be adapted to other grades, but I
too am at elementary.
I put a food pyramid up on the SMARTBoard and had photos of food so little
ones could "Magically" move the food to the right spot on the pyramid.
I took a story, and printed it in different text boxes and mixed it up so
that we could work on sequencing.
I have used web sites that have the online coloring and let the students
touch the board to do the coloring.
Use the I SPY cds and use the board as a way to let all of the class
participate.
Many of the web sites that have interactive "quizzes" are a way of checking
class knowledge of a subject. They will all pay attention, and volunteer,
because they get to interact with the board.

Subject: TARGET: technology inservice

Fellow LM_NETTERS:
I am conducting an inservice in July for several teachers in my system
(elementary and secondary). We will be going over the use of our COW
(Computers on Wheels) which is a cart of 30 laptops and also the SMARTBoard.
I use these items frequently with my classes, but most of what we do is
library/research related. I am going to show them the basics of how to use
the equipment and give a few simple examples of applications. Does anyone
have any other suggestions? Do you have some great lessons you have done
with such equipment? I am in elementary so it is especially difficult for
me to come up with ideas for the secondary folks. I would appreciate any
help you could offer.
Thank you in advance.
