Can't let this discussion pass without mentioning our "initiation" of
junior high students rising to high school. (This is years and years old!)
Seniors didn't do pranks. Seniors had several privileges during the year
and I don't think a prank was felt to be "necessary."
High schoolers would go to the beach with a water pistol full of peroxide
and shoot it at the 9th graders' hair. This happened completely off school
grounds, so it never became a *school* problem. Also, people who didn't
want a streak of blonde in their hair could just stay away from the most
popular public areas of the beach.
The streak of blonde was "worn" by the new 10th graders as a badge of honor
when school started!
