Advanced: Research Definitions

Hello Colleagues,
I was wondering whether you may give me a hand on this one.
I know that there are 2 specific words in doing research.  They are (1)
macro research; and (2) micro research.  Could anyone please supply me
with the correct definitions?  I have read them somewhere but couldn't
find the source.  Shame on me!
