TAR: Books on Rubric Theory

We are looking for materials on the theory behind rubrics - maybe in the
context of performance assessment and/or problem-based learning.  We
have information on rubric templates (rubistar, etc.); it's more the
theory behind building rubrics that we're interested in.  Can anyone
recommend any materials for this?
