As requested here is a hit of replies received regarding our professional
collection:

We have a book study group that meets at our school. We read a different
book each quarter and meet 3-4 times to discuss. We each get a copy of
the book and a copy is also purchased for our Professional Collection.
Some of the titles are:
We Can't Teach what We Don't Know by Gary Howard
        Control Theory by William Glasser
Other People's Children by Lisa Delpit
Saving Childhood by Michael and Diane Medved
Because of the Kids: Facing Racial and Cultural Differences in
Schools by Jennifer Obidah, Karen Manheim Teel
A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry
Odd Girl Out by Rachel Simmons
        Children of the Dream
        Young, Black and Gifted
Why are all of the Black kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria
Punished by Rewards by Alfie Kohn
        Enhancing Professional Practice -- Danielson
        Conversations by Regie Routman

And so much much more -- this is just a tiny snippet of the things on
our shelf.

Lucy Calkins books are used a lot. The Dale Seymour (publisher) book,
Critical thinking activities in patterns, imagery, logic for grades 4-6 is a
favorite of the gifted education teacher.
You WILL post a hit, I hope?

Hi Emily,

At the elementary level, Collaborating to Meet Standards: Teacher/Librarian
Partnerships K-6 by Toni Buzzeo would benefit both you and your classroom
teachers in offering 19 collaborative units as well as the history and
philosophy of collaborative practice.
