Dear all, Further to my bewilderment as to why a message on the value and use of paperbacks would be blocked by a school district filter system, many kind folks have suggested a number of reasons. For those that missed the apparently offending (offensive?) post that was blocked due to ‘content’: ------------------------------------------------- This is very interesting, from a high school perspective in this state. Most LMS/TLs here buy paperbacks (fiction only) in preference to library binding-type material. It is the “format of choice” for the vast majority of high school students. Also, being cheaper (cost wise) they help spread our book budgets a little further. Sure, they fall apart more easily, but we get a few years out of them. Given the acceleration in changes in reading tastes, many of them only have a ‘shelf-life’ of a few years anyway.
