I had such a great response to my TARGET about letting teachers know about new books, I thought I'd try again with a new question. I have found that my students are much more likely to check out books that are displayed face front, so I have books displayed in every conceivable place INSIDE the library. My question is: Are you successfully using other methods of displaying books that encourage the children to check them out? One thing we are doing that corresponds to the AMERICAN theme we are using this year is that I printed an oversized picture of the Statue of Liberty and hung it in the hallway.I periodically change the book she is holding with the scanned cover of a book from the library. What other ways are you using in the hallways, in the classrooms, etc. to PROMOTE books to the children?
