CURRICULUM/EDUCATION LIBRARIAN

Concordia University is seeking a full-time Curriculum/Education Librarian
for the Christopher Resource Center, a branch library of Concordia libraries
that houses the curriculum and juvenile literature collections.
Responsibilities include:  day-to-day operation of the Christopher Resource
Center, including reference services, collection development, and user
instruction; staff the reference desk and assist in research; assist student
and faculty in the utilization of library resources; supervise student
workers; participate with other professional librarians in faculty library
liaison programs; present bibliographic instruction sessions to student
groups, and teach techniques and strategies; perform simple cataloging and
processing of curriculum materials, and monitor student assistants who
perform this work; design and develop content for subject web pages; staff
the reference desk at the main library on occasion (typically ten Saturdays
a year); perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications include: Master’s Degree in Library Science, MLIS or
equivalent degree from an ALA approved program; experience with electronic
resources, particularly online databases such as ERIC and Internet
resources; demonstrated knowledge of the field of teacher education,
familiarity with Pre-K-12 teaching material and an interest in children’s
literature.  The candidate must also have the ability to work both
independently and with others; have a familiarity with Windows applications,
Internet browsers, and online databases; and have the ability to work some
evenings and Saturdays.  Desirable experience includes at least three year’s
academic library experience in either reference, collection development, or
user instruction; graduate level experience in Education; and a teaching
certificate.
